But the global financial crisis pushed down Indian growth rates, while domestic food prices and global commodity prices have pushed up inflation. As a result, India’s central bank has raised interest rates numerous times, most recently on Tuesday.The government has put growth for the year ending March 31, 2012, at 8.6% but the Reserve Bank of India is saying the economy will grow at 8% in that time. Some economists and organizations expect it to clock a lower number than that—the International Monetary Fund projects growth at 7.8%.Mr,toms outlet.
