People With Disabilities Are Just Like You and Me Right

Some 43,000,000 Americans have one or more physical or mental disability/disabilities. Thetopic that I chose to write about is the Americans with Disabilities Act. The reason I chose this is because I go to a program after school that has many disabled kids involved in it; and they are so fun and awesome! The Americans with Disabilities Act was established in 1990. It insures that all Americans with disabilities will not be discriminated against and they shall receive care for any and all of their needs (if capable of being fulfilled). All disabled Americans should receive whatever they need because they are people just like you and me.

The Americans with Disabilities was established in 1990 and nine months after July 26, 1990, all buildings are required to meet the standards of the Act. One requierment that all buildings must fit is having easily accesible building with elevators or ramps,http://bbysgx20120808.gotoip1.com/read.php?tid=162635&ds=1. Another is that all public restrooms have to have at least one handicap accessible stall,http://www.2013spring.co.uk. A handicap stall has railings on the sides and is larger than normal stalls so that a wheelchair can easily maneuver in it. In Discrimination it states that individual with a disability is a person who:

The right that is affected is special care for disabilities, formal dresses with sleeves,http://china-map.net/uchome/space.php?uid=12683&do=blog&id=140679. Without the Americans with Disabilities Act, many Americans would not receive what they need to survive. In with Disabilities Act of 1990 it states that against individuals with disabilities persists in such critical areas as employment, housing, public accommodations, education, transportation, communication, recreation, institutionalization,http://occupymovies.com/read_blog/470507/shaking-hands, health services, voting, and access to public services. It is not fair for people to be discriminated against so much that they cannot get a certain job just because the way they look, talk, or because of their disability, pandora bracelet charms. It is very important that all Americans do not discriminate against people just because they may be a little different.

There is always room for improvement so we need to do all that we can to improve treatment to people with disabilities. To do this, we should not judge people right away by their looks. We should also continue to improve upon buildings so that they are fully handicap accessible. I know from the program that I go to that people with disabilities are sometimes the best people to help cheer you up or just a friend to talk to. We should all help to make disabled people fell exactly equal to us, which is what they truly are.
