Head of the World Bank, Dr. Jim Yong Kim, is speaking at a press conference ahead of the event, which is scheduled to kick off Friday. The World Bank has recently trimmed its 2013 growth forecasts for emerging East Asia. Warning of possible over-heating in the region’s larger economies.

It also says the Bank of Japan’s aggressive monetary expansion measures should provide a boost to developing countries in the region.
